# Are people leaving the land business?

Hey all, I saw a post in another land group asking why so many people are leaving the land business. Is this even true? Are many leaving? If so, why? Did something happen? I was just curious as to why someone posted this and saw a wide range of replies. What are your thoughts?

I’ve seen some people leave land over the past couple of years. I’m sure there are various reasons, but it has gotten more competitive than it used to be, for sure.

I think the recent rise in competition may actually be even harder on those who got started in this business 5+ years ago, back when they could send out batches 500 letters and consistently get deals lots of that way. It takes a much bigger push now and/or marketing with alternative channels like cold calling or texting or RVMs.

It’s hard to change with the times, especially when it changes very quickly and most of the roadmaps are still teaching what _used_ to work.

That makes sense. I guess since I’m new I won’t know any different so I’ll just keep moving forward and go up from there!! Thanks again!
