# The Benefits of Using Realtors and Agents?

Hello everyone, I was considering using an agent to list my property what is the  
percentage they charge for residential and what’s the main benefits of using them to  
sell your property?

I usually see them charging a 10% commission east of the Mississippi, and 6% west of the Mississippi.

I have no idea why it changes from one side of the country to the other, but that’s been my experience so far.

If you don’t find a good agent that actually specializes in land, you might be _worse off_ than trying to sell it yourself, honestly. It’s worth the effort to find a good one, though, because the right one can make your life a lot easier.
