NC Title & Closing Attorney Reference

Does anybody have references to a real estate closing attorney in North Carolina that will do common/buyer seller representation?

I am working on closing my first two small land purchases, and found that North Carolina requires an attorney to handle real estate closings by law. It is also legal to have the same attorney represent both sides, but finding it very challenging to find one in my area. (see below)

The attorney I am currently working with let me know they won’t close on the property without the seller being represented by another attorney. To put this into context, I already have purchase agreements from the sellers and each property is < 1 acre and < $4,000. When I pushed them on representing both sides, they let me know that it is legal but their law firm won’t do it due to possible conflicts of interest and insurance requirements. I reached out to 3-4 others to find seller representation, and all had similar approaches regarding common buyer/seller representation. Looking like I will need to pay an extra few hundred dollars to find an attorney to represent the sellers in this transaction, but would like to have an attorney that will streamline the process in the future.

Not sure if you’ve checked our closing agent directory yet, but it looks like there are several of them in North Carolina.

Since these were all submitted by other land investors in the community, they would seem like some good ones to start with.

What county are the transactions taking place in?

Both of the transactions are in Wayne County, NC. I’ve been navigating through this, and the list was helpful as well.

In the Raleigh, NC area found Jackson Law to be the best.
