Questions About Hiring a VA Overseas

Looking to hire an overseas VA. Was wondering how people’s experience with the timezone difference (it would be an 8-13 hour difference. I can’t imagine working night shift, and so how productive do people typically stay as the night shift gets later and later?

Any cultural differences etc that I should be looking at? How good/clear have your people been on the phone?

Any other guidance/feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Frank

Hey @frankgaron! What country are you thinking? Philippines?

Filipino VAs are very common in the land business. I don’t usually hear of any big problems with the time zone difference, just set expectations during the interview process that it’s a 2nd or 3rd shift position. If they don’t like it, they shouldn’t apply.

What will this person be doing for you exactly? Do you have a clear job description put together yet?

Frank,
Much of South America is in the same time zones as the U.S. and many speak better English than in the Philippines, IMHO. They sometimes cost a bit more.

@Rwilliams are there any good hiring websites you know of to find VAs in South America?

Hirelatam.com is one I hear good things about.

I am not using one currently but I’m sure you could ask folks in Seth’s group or Google.

Hi Seth. Doing removes from my Launch Control and RVM campaigns. I would eventually like to train them to help me with my outbound calls to leads. I have a really good referral for a Filipino VA that works with a buddy of mine. Going to give her a try and see how she does. Thanks to the both of you for the intel.
