I have attempted to record a deed in Cook County to no avail. First off I am out of state and attempted to e-record with Simplifile and was unsuccessful because they informed me I needed a Water stamp then I must, in person, take the deed across the hall to get some other stamps then come back to get the deed recorded. I listed the property with a Realtor hoping to get a buyer, open escrow and have the title company record the deed for me but to no avail. If anyone has dealt with Cook County can you please give some incite and/or direction on what I can do to get this deed recorded. Thanking everyone in advance.
This county is one of the more complex to get deeds recorded and the process isn’t always quick. If a title company won’t help you can look for a local title abstractor to record it for you. Sometimes the county clerks have referrals for that but it really depends on the clerk some won’t give out referrals.
Thank you for the information. I will try the abstractor route now. Thanks again.
