Has anybody paid for consulting on SEO for their website to increase traffic? Interested in getting some feedback, and have a couple consultations scheduled next week to get some prices. I have no clue what the prices range around, but I know nothing about SEO and I get several emails a week about improving my site.
I started the RE Tipster class end of last year, sent first mailers beginning of this year, and have now been through two full deals and have some capital to start looking into things like improving my website and online marketing. My website is currently somewhat primitive built on BlueHost, and looking to make it more optimized for traffic moving forward. Feel free to take a look, and any feedback on SEO would be great.
Also, considering looking into pay per click marketing as an additional stream of marketing to mailers.
Yes, I hired someone on UpWork a few weeks ago to help with SEO. There has been about a 25% increase in traffic since then. Although it hasn’t been long and that could be natural volatility in the traffic levels.
We’ve used Rocket Print & Mail/ Postcard Mania for all our marketing and they’ve been great. We love their Small Business Everywhere it really helps boost our leads in addition to our mailings.
Last year, I started hearing all of my blogger friends talking about how ‘SEO is dead,’ because of how Google is now giving so much leverage to bigger websites like Reddit, not to mention how Google now makes you scroll through a big AI response, and then a BIG wall of ads before you can even start to see the organic search results. Even if you’re the first result, you could still be waaaaay down the page (it depends on the search term, of course… some searches won’t generate an AI response, some won’t have any ads, if they’re more niche-specific).
That’s probably where the most success can be had right now with any SEO effort. Don’t target ‘sell my land,’ target ‘how to sell my recreational land in [city], [state]’ (or some other very specific search intent).
The search traffic for those terms will be much lower, but you’ll also have almost no competition for them, and it’ll be easier to rank for the few people who might be searching for them.
I will say, it’s interesting to hear about the 25% increase in traffic you’ve already seen @dandeppen. It sounds like there’s a fair argument to be made that SEO is not dead, but perhaps it’s just changed.
Also, good to hear about how Rocket Print & Mail’s Everywhere Investing has worked for you, @Nicole. Have you been tracking your return on ad spend (ROAS) since you started using them? I’m curious how it compares to direct mail or any other marketing channel.
Thanks for all the input. I do use Rocket Print and Mail, and I’m about to use the last of my mailers so I’ll talk with them about marketing using Small Business Everywhere. I’ve heard a couple others talk about this, and it seems like a good add. I’ve heard it’s close to $0.50 a mailer to track and target which is a bit steep, but may be worth it.
@PrecisionTerrain I talked to them about this recently and it’s quite expensive. I think $2k a month is what they said. I just don’ t have the volume or bandwidth right now to justify that. I may reconsider if I can get my deal volume higher. It’s pretty amazing what they are claiming. They visit your website just one time, and then your business ads automatically show up everywhere while they are browsing specific sites. I am really curious to hear ROAS on this, considering most of the sellers that actually take action are seniors and not sure how much they use these sites.
