Does anyone have any experience with Pacaso? I’ve known about it for years, and I’ve been hearing more about it in the news. I think it was started by the original guy who started Zillow, if I remember right?
It seems like a smart way to get fractional ownership in a vacation home without the full cost or obligation of dealing with the whole thing.
I’m wondering what the drawbacks are, though. I can’t help but think about timeshares and all the nightmares I’ve heard about those. I know that’s not exactly what this is, but it seems like there might be some parallels.
Has anyone ever invested in a vacation home with this? If so, what has your experience been like?
I don’t imagine you’ll find many people who have used Pacaso and stumble across this forum post. That said, I would also love to know of others’ genuine experiences. It seems like a great idea in theory.
To me, the only catch is, how easy is it to sell my share of the property at its fair market value, if I ever get tired of it?
That’s really the essence of how liquid or illiquid the investment is, or if it’s an investment at all.
Fractional ownership through Pacaso is an interesting concept it makes luxury properties more accessible, but the shared decision-making and ongoing fees can be tricky. It’s definitely worth researching the exit options and management terms carefully before committing to see if it truly fits your long-term goals.
