There is a land bank property I am interested in that has a road leading to it from the north and one from the south. They looked to me like perfectly ordinary roads, but it turns out they are private roads. The Land Bank said for me to talk to the Register’s Office to ask if an easement has been obtained for those roads allowing general traffic. The Register’s Office said the only way to get that information was to pay for a title search. As I often say, I am new to all this. I am learning all I can, but I am still new. Am I correct in assuming that for a title search I would hire a law firm? Maybe a specialized law firm? And how much would this cost? This is in Tennessee. Are there alternatives to going down this expensive path?
There doesn’t seem to be a way to upload the image which shows the roads. Am I just missing it?
