Before I go ask ChatGPT, I thought somebody here could help. We haven’t used FSBO before. I’m having trouble getting Zillow to do the verification call that is supposed to come to activate the listing. I’ve used my cell and a google voice number. Anybody have an idea/experience here? Thanks.
Funny you should ask. I just posted something in our FB group yesterday to ask if anyone was actively using Zillow FSBO. The responses I’m getting from people aren’t great.
The support is very inconsistent or non-existent, and it seems others have had similar issues to yours, where they can’t get their listings to go live.
It used to be awesome, but it seems to have taken a nosedive over the past couple of years.
I suppose it’s not entirely surprising. Zillow’s business model is to support Realtors, and not necessarily property owners who are avoiding Realtors by listing FSBO.
Thanks for the history. I see plenty of FSBO listings. With the smaller stuff it doesn’t cost justify to put on land.com . Brokerless and others will sometimes be blackballed by local agents, so we sometimes offer a juicier commission.
Nick told me he saw it!
It’s a very valid point. There are a lot of listings that simply don’t make sense to put any other place than a free listing site. I would imagine Craiglist and FB Marketplace are the only other alternatives, and they both have plenty of their own issues.
I believe LandSearch will also let you post one listing for free.
@seanjean @Steve_Hodgdon this is an older blog post, but most of these websites are still alive an active places where you can post listings for free.
Might be worthwhilte for some of those lower-value properties that don’t make sense to post on a paid platform.
Seth - Thank you for the “50 websites” video. I watched it and read the article. I’m looking forward to posting my land for sale.
I appreciate the information.
